WARM WEATHER – GUITAR HERO III

December 27, 2007

Because of the recent chill, the Gaughan’s have been locked in the house, just kidding, of course the real reason has been what Santa brought, including Guitar Hero III…

I am not that great, my kids are much better, no worries, I have them at Halo 3. :)

Although the kids are getting there nicely, not like this guy…

COMET EXPLOSION OR ???

December 11, 2007

ATLAS ROCKET FUEL DUMP???

Once again, I must thank Pete Lardizabal for another amazing nighttime image in the skies over Jax. Last night around 7pm, it appeared right overhead, as a fuzzy snowball object in the sky. It sort of looked like a known comet named Holmes, Pete caught this image of Holmes back in November…

But, Pete was quick with the camera and caught this…

According to Spaceweather.com, it was a fuel dump from an Atlas Rocket. Timing was everything as even thought the sun had already set in Jax (making it dark), it was still light where the fuel was dumped leaving a “cloud” in the upper-atmosphere. To us, it appeared to be a comet.

Technical Difficulties no longer!

2008 HURRICANE SEASON FORECAST

7 HURRICANES, 3 MAJOR HURRICANES, 1 LIKELY TO HIT U.S.

Too much hype?  No…  This forecast is so poorly understood by the public.  The way to understand this forecast, is not to think that because they are forecasting another busy year, that we are going to be hit…

Rather, if they are expecting a busy season with intense hurricanes, that my chances of being hit are greater than a “normal” year.

Also, that NO TWO SEASONS ARE ALIKE…

In my mind 2007 was one of the LUCKY YEARS.  As correctly forecasted, it was a busy year, with two of the most intense hurricanes of all-time (most people overlook this detail)  BOTH of which hit land as category 5 hurricanes.  This was the first time that two category 5 hurricanes hit landfall in the same year, EVER!

But, did they hit Florida?  No…  So, to most people it seemed like a nothing season.

Nothing could be further from the truth.  We were just LUCKY.

1992 WAS AN UNLUCKY YEAR

A completely opposite year was 1992, when the seasonal forecast were for a weak year (and it was) with only a couple of hurricanes, one being a major hurricane.

We only had one major hurricane… It hit Florida, as a category 5 hurricane.  That was hurricane Andrew, which cost the state $26Billion.

Technical Difficulties fixed, we’ll be back real soon!
